00.00 – 01.10
General introduction to the series.
01.11 – 03.43
We meet Charlotte, who is totally confused over what she should do after the sixth form. She loves music and her favourite subject is geography.
03.44 – 04.59
Charlotte talks with Ann Duffy, a careers specialist, and David McQueen, a life coach, about how she can start to explore her career options. They suggest looking at music gigs as a possible career area.
05.00 – 10.04
Ann and David set Charlotte the challenge of working with a music promotions company that organises gigs. Charlotte has to plan and carry out all the practical arrangements for a gig, make sure all the equipment is in place and introduce the band on stage.
10.05 – 10.54
Charlotte meets David and Ann again to discuss other interests, especially geography, and they decide to look at jobs in this field.
10.55 – 14.30
For her second challenge, Charlotte works with an environmental consultancy firm in London. She is set the task of researching the impact that an expansion of a railway station would have on the local environment.
14.31 – 17.56
Ann takes Charlotte to Queen Mary's college in East London to find out about an environmental science course. She talks to students and looks at the facilities and teaching methods.
17.57 – 18.50
Ann and David are surprised at Charlotte's lack of interest in an environmental career and realise they need to look at other options.
18.51 – 22.20
For her third challenge, Charlotte spends time with an events mangement company that organises huge events for big companies. She helps out at a real event (to launch a new car) for 700 people and really enjoys the experience.
22.21 – 22.32
A summary of Charlotte's career problem and her experiences on the programme so far.
22.33 – 23.46
It's three months later and Charlotte has decided to apply to do geography at university and perhaps think about a career in events management in the future.
