Liam is 16 years old and from Ilkley in Yorkshire. He really wants to be an entrepreneur and is impatient to start his own business as soon as possible. His friends are applying to university, but he seems to be more interested in making lots of money and having a wealthy lifestyle than carrying on with his studies. At the start of the programme he is ambitious to make as much money as possible and retire at 30.
He knows that most successful business people did not go to university and feels that he has the ambition, determination and confidence to become a successful entrepreneur straight after he has finished his post-16 course.
Liam is supported by a life coach and a careers specialist who set him a series of challenges to help him decide what to do next. His main options are either to go into business straight away or to go to university first and then think about a business career. Ann and David feel that Liam has the necessary drive, ambition and skills to become a successful entrepreneur, but are surprised to find out that he has absolutely no experience of working in business, nor any ideas of what business he might start.
