TEEN TYCOONS

PROGRAMME 2: PENDRAGON

PROGRAMME AIMS

  • To support work-related learning and enterprise activities for all 14- to 19-year-olds as an alternative to, or a reinforcement for, first-hand experience
  • To provide real-life examples of business practices and entrepreneurial skills
  • To raise awareness of basic concepts of business organisation and management
  • To explore factors that promote successful entrepreneurial activity
  • To examine values for, and attitudes towards, business enterprise.

THE PROBLEM

Pendragon is a band that has been rocking for nearly 30 years. It is losing money and Nick Barrett, its front man, needs help with increasing the band's income.

The tycoons set a two-week agenda to turn around Nick's business – find alternative income, increase the income from merchandise, and promote the band to a younger audience.

The programme follows Michael, Sarah and Adam as they tackle the agenda. Nick has a problem juggling the creative and financial sides of his business. Will the tycoons persuade him that he can sell his skills in a different way?
