BACKGROUND

The entrepreneurs

Sarah Green

Sarah is a successful business woman who set up her internet company, 1st for Furniture, when she was 18 years old. Her projected turnover for this year is £400,000.

Sarah showed entrepreneurial skills from an early age and was mowing her neighbours' lawns at 14, earning herself £50 a week. She studied accounts at college but gave up her course to work for a furniture dealer in her hometown of Stevenage. After being made redundant, she used the £700 redundancy money to set up her own business.

Adam Cunard

Adam set up a ticket printing company called Britannia Ticketing over three years ago. He also runs his local theatre in Bognor where he manages a staff of 60.

At 13, Adam tried to buy a cruise ship and, after a family holiday to Morocco, he sold mint tea outside his parents' house in Bognor, wearing a fez! Adam worked at Butlins to earn the £500 it cost to set up Britannia Ticketing. His company now has over 300 regular clients including BskyB, ITV and Bristol Zoo.

Michael Lowe

Michael is a public relations and marketing guru who set up Vizarie Ltd three years ago, at the age of 16. The company promotes products and services in various industries, and has several large clients including local councils.

From Tottenham in North London, Michael started out in business with £100, which he saved from his pocket money. He has already gained industry recognition for his efforts, having received a national business award and several 'Young Entrepreneur of the Year' awards.
