The media strikes fear into the hearts of adults whenever it attacks teens with rabid glee, describing them as binge-drinking, hoody-wearing maniacs. But are teenagers completely out of control, or are they unfairly demonised?

• To explore the truth about teenage misbehaviour and reveal the underlying causes
• To assess ways in which the government tackles teenage crime
• To raise awareness of the way in which exaggerated media coverage of teenage crime heightens public fears
• To look at ways of promoting better relationships between adults and teenagers.
