Teens on Trial

Aims

The programme aims to give teenagers the opportunity to:

  • Discuss freely how they view the use of cannabis
  • Explore the effects of cannabis on the defendant and the people around him
  • Have the responsibility to decide on an appropriate treatment / punishment for smoking cannabis
  • Gain an insight into the how legal system views cannabis

Learning outcomes

  • This case will outline the extent of cannabis use
  • To reinforce the fact that cannabis is still an illegal drug despite government reclassifications
  • A look into the consequences of being stoned such as accidents, violent or abusive behaviour
