Teens on Trial

RACHEL - UNDERAGE BINGE DRINKING

Rachel is a 15-year-old teenager from Colchester. She attends college. Rachel is deeply involved in a culture of hanging around on the streets with her friends binge drinking. She regularly drinks so much that she becomes aggressive. She has been abusive to the police. Often she has no memory of the night before. She was once hospitalized due to the excessive amounts of alcohol she had drunk. Rachel says that she drinks because she's bored and that frequent arguments with her parents often spark off a drinking session. Her parents are unaware of the extent of her drinking and are normally in bed when she rolls in drunk at 2 or 3am. It is illegal for Rachel to buy alcohol so she and her friends get older guys that they hang out with to buy their alcohol.
