Teens on Trial

Aims

The programme aims to help young people think about:

  • The effects of truancy on teenagers' education
  • How a teenager's actions can be detrimental to their parents
  • Whether truancy can ever be justified
  • How they may try to encourage truanting teenagers to return to school

Learning outcomes

  • Enhance teenagers' knowledge of the legal system
  • Understand how a lack of education can affect a teenager
  • Motivate them to debate and discuss their views of truancy and how those views may differ form those of their parents and teachers
