THE JUDGE: JOHN COOPER


The Bar Council loaned their spokesman John Cooper, from the Attorney General's A-List. John is one of the country's top criminal and human rights lawyers. He has been involved in several high-profile public criminal trials, including Deep Cut, Louise Woodward and Leah Betts, and has advised on the treatment of detainees in the United States.

John conducts lectures, seminars and legal forums, as well as appearing regularly on Newsnight and Panorama. He has a regular column in The Times and has written two plays for television, The Law Lord for BBC Screen 2 and The Advocate for ITV.
