00:00 – 06:14 Monday
Andrew makes the trek from Sheffield to London to buy fish for his restaurant. A victim of the Vietnam War, Andrew's overcome the events in his past to become a successful self-made man with a string of restaurants. But people don't always understand his English, and he can feel like an outsider.
Anton feels very British and reckons his dad has some out-dated attitudes. Andrew doesn't like Anton's permed hair, can't talk to him about anything except schoolwork and isn't good at listening. Even though Anton's totally focused on his dance and has his future mapped out, Andrew thinks it's all just talk and is leaning on Anton to work even harder.
6:15 – 09:28 Tuesday
Because their paths don't often cross, neither Anton nor Andrew has much idea of what the other does all day. While Andrew's working hard in his business, Anton's putting everything into his dance. Falling in love with break dance turned Anton's life around when he was 13, and it's kept him out of trouble and hard at work ever since. But Andrew thinks dancing is just for fun and not a good career choice. Anton turns 18 this week and he's gearing up for his party.
09:29 – 12:57 Wednesday
While Anton hits the shops to put the finishing touches to his party outfit, Andrew's negotiating with his builder to get his new sushi restaurant open on time.
Anton bumps into his ex-girlfriend. Andrew doesn't approve of Anton having relationships while he's in education, and says he should wait until he's 21.
Andrew's terrifying teenage experiences as a prisoner of war in Vietnam have marked him for life and have deeply affected the way he feels about his kids and their future, but he's never shared the whole story with Anton.
12:58 – 16:55 Thursday
Anton's 18 today, and his friends want to celebrate. He knows they care about him, but he's not so sure about his dad, who never shows much affection. For Andrew, it's a case of holding on to his authority as a father and he can't risk getting too close. Even so, to Anton's delight, he gets up on the dance floor at the party.
16:66 – 18:53 Friday
While Andrew's organising his builder, Anton's doing some choreography. He'll be missed at school, where he's been an inspirational teacher to younger kids, but he's not sure whether or not his dad is proud of him.
18:54 – 20:03 Saturday
Andrew hopes that seeing the film will make Anton see where his dad's coming from, and change his ideas. Anton wants his father to realise just how determined he is to succeed at dance.
20:04 – 25:00 Sunday
The film gives Andrew and Anton a real insight into each other's lives. Now Andrew can respect what Anton's doing and accept his future as a dancer, while Anton realises just what his dad went through when he was young. Andrew tells Anton how much he loves him. They've reached a new understanding of each other.
