00:00 – 07:38 Monday
Since Luke dropped out of college he often spends half the morning in bed and can go for days at a time without seeing his dad. Two years ago, his twin Liam was badly injured at school. Luke blamed himself for not being there and his behaviour worsened, but now he wants to turn things round and make a go of his music. Even though Luke hasn't been in trouble for six months, his dad still despairs of him, and it'll be a struggle for Luke to change his father's opinion.
07:39 – 11:56 Tuesday
Lance puts in punishingly long hours and thinks Luke needs to realise that he too will have to work hard to earn money. Luke's saving up for recording equipment and enjoys composing music. Luke seldom talks to his mum and dad, and when he leaves the meal table rather than discuss his interview for college, then asks Karen and Lance for the cash to go out drinking, they're exasperated.
11:57 – 14:48 Wednesday
Luke's suffering from a hangover, and with only an hour to go he hasn't burned a CD for his interview yet. Karen gives him a piece of her mind. He's late for the interview, but it goes well. Lance is pleased that music has given Luke a focus, but he's not convinced of Luke's staying power – and he doesn't know yet that the course will cost him £1,250.
14:49 – 17:28 Thursday
Luke's disappeared overnight, and his parents are worried in case he's been in trouble again. Lance is realising how little time he's spent with Luke, and how he's never told him that he loves him. When his parents do track him down, Luke refuses to talk about the interview. Karen and Lance simply can't understand why Luke behaves this way.
17:29 – 19:02 Friday
Apparently it had slipped Luke's mind to tell his parents where he was or talk to them about his interview. Luke tells his dad how much the course costs. Lance isn't convinced that Luke will finish the course, but Luke's adamant that this is what he wants to do. If Lance pays up, he's going to want Luke to treat the family with more respect.
19:03 – 21:14 Saturday
It's Luke's birthday, and he isn't happy. There's something wrong with all his presents and he certainly isn't satisfied with the amount of money they've given him. Luke starts shouting at his parents, vents his anger on an old teddy bear and takes himself off, but then comes back to say sorry. Lance and Karen aren't having it. They're completely fed up with his behaviour and tell him to go away.
21:15 – 21:33 Sunday
There's no way Luke and Lance will watch the films today – they aren't even talking to each other.
21:34 – 25:00 Tuesday
Tempers have cooled and Lance has made Luke the desk he wanted. As they watch the films, Lance sees Luke's good side for the first time and Luke realises just how abominably he's behaved. When they talk, Lance wants to make some changes and show Luke that he really does care. Luke agrees to try and do better as well, and the two of them go off sea-fishing together.
