Shabih Ul'hasn Bashir
Possibly the biggest change of all was in Shabih. He goes to an urban school in central Bradford. His teachers and friends confirm that he has turned from a failing, abusive, short tempered and disruptive 'pain in the backside', into a succeeding, polite and inquisitive young man.
Everyone, from teachers who had to deal with the old Shabih, to fellow students, who listened to his 'gobbyness', were amazed by his remarkable character change. Girls found him easy to talk to and boys were surprised by his confidence with girls.
The teacher especially said he barely recognised Shabih. Usually by this point in the term he would expect to be chastising Shabih for some reason or other, but was surprised that there was no reason to see him. In fact he had a conversation with Shabih that revealed a mature, confident and very likable young man.
