PROGRAMME 7: MARK

PROGRAMME OUTLINE

00:00 – 05:50

Introduces Mark and the mentors. Mark, a first-year undergraduate, explains his difficulties. A student house party confirms that he is self-conscious, struggles with small talk and is afraid to take risks in a social setting.

05:51 – 10:29

First psychological exercise. Mark practises one-to-one conversation at a speed-dating event. He initiates conversations. His body language and active listening skills improve.

10:30 – 12:17

Homework. Mark becomes a chat show host. He interviews his friends about his good and bad points and rediscovers his personality.

12:18 – 15:58

Makeover. Hannah shows Mark which style of clothes suits his build and personality. His new outfits boost his confidence and self-esteem.

15:59 – 17:57

Second psychological exercise. A ball-throwing activity helps Mark to tackle his internal critic.

17:58 – 23:03

Final challenge. Mark successfully hosts a party. He comes across as a 'confident guy' with good social skills. He impresses experienced party and event organisers. Free from fear, he enjoys being the centre of attention for positive reasons.

23:04 – 24:20
