Introduces Jack and the mentors. Summarises Jack's problems. Jack struggles when asked to lead four other young people in the task of erecting a tent.
05:10 – 06:25
Lisa discovers why Jack is a different person on and off the dance floor. Reasons include bullying, insecurity and fear.
06:26 – 11:18
First psychological exercise. Jack pretends it is National Dance Day, persuades passers-by to learn a few dance steps and improves his posture, eye contact and self-confidence.
11:19 – 13:01
Homework. Looking at a personal photo, Jack utilises positive self-talk to boost his self-belief.
13:02 – 16:03
A makeover helps Jack to stand out from the crowd and to be taken seriously.
16:04 – 18:26
Second psychological exercise. Jack makes a trifle whilst handcuffed to a badly-behaved Stephen. He learns to give instructions and improves his assertiveness and confidence.
18:27 – 23:00
Final challenge. Jack successfully runs a dance class with two beginners, two dance teachers and two of his teachers.
23.01 – 23:45
Reflection. Jack runs a dance class for his teachers. With improved self-knowledge and confidence, and feeling that he has found out more about himself in the last six weeks than the last 17 years, he is ready for the future.
