Get Me the Producer

GET ME THE PRODUCER!

Greg Dyke with the mentors and the 12 participants

Greg Dyke – pictured here flanked by mentors Ruth Joseph and Jeremy Salsby – must pick a winner from this group of 12 wannabe producers

In this six-part series, Greg Dyke hand-picks 12 participants who think they have what it takes to become a TV producer. Divided into two groups, the teams compete against each other, but also, as there will only be one winner, each individual is competing against everyone else, including members of her/his own team. One individual winner will be offered a year's contract to work as a producer for a big independent TV company.

The series deals with how the participants tackle the six challenges set, how they relate to each other and what skills are important for leaders. It raises a number of issues, including the role and responsibility of leaders, the role and responsibility of team members, the concept of loyalty and what happens to people when they are put under extreme pressure. Other important issues covered include decision-making, social skills, coping with pressure, meeting deadlines and 'thinking on one's feet'.
