FAME ASYLUM
PROGRAMME AIMS
To raise awareness of:
- the situation of young asylum seekers
- the discrimination they face
- the media's role in manipulating our views on style and fashions
- the importance of identity, religion and culture
- personal and social responsibilities in an inclusive Britain.
CURRICULUM RELEVANCE
Scotland
The programme is relevant for National Qualifications in Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies, Media Studies, Modern Studies, and Personal and Social Education (all levels).
It can also be used in recent initiatives in Citizenship, and Personal and Social Education. Teachers should check current guidelines. In particular, the programme will support National Qualifications (all levels).
England and Wales
This programme is relevant for examined courses in Citizenship, Sociology, Media Studies, General Studies, and aspects of RE. It is also useful for the following aspects of PSHE and Citizenship in the National Curriculum:
