DON'T MAKE ME ANGRY 2

PROGRAMME 4: MICHAEL

PROGRAMME OUTLINE

00:00 – 00:19

We see Michael at home in a violent rage.

00:35 – 01.09

Michael explains how he behaves at home.

01:10 – 01:47

Dr Rachel Andrew is introduced. She will work with Michael for three months.

01:48 – 03:31

Rachel tries to meet Michael but he refuses to see her and she speaks to his older sister about the worsening situation.

03:32 – 04:54

She finally gets to speak to him and realises that he wants to change.

04:55 – 07:57

Rachel speaks to his mother and learns that the break-up of his parents' marriage did not help Michael. There have been no clear, consistent boundaries or consequences for Michael's actions in place. We witness his latest, disturbing outburst.

07:58 – 12:00

Rachel goes to see Michael, but he has gone out. He is obviously not ready to discuss his commitment to changing his life. She tries again when he comes in, but he refuses to see her and so she writes him a letter giving him a last chance to get his life back on track.

12:01 – 15:00

There has been a breakthrough text message from Michael saying that he's ready to start. He's at his lowest, and Rachel draws a picture of how she sees his anger. He's a tiny person in the middle of it. He feels that most of his anger is because of his dad leaving. Rachel sums up the situation.

15:01 – 17:18

We see further violent outbursts, which Rachel wants to play back to him, but Michael doesn't want to see the footage. It is becoming clear that living in an all-female household is fuelling his anger.

17:19 – 23:17

Rachel knows that Michael is interested in a career in the Navy and she takes him to find out more. He explains to Rachel what life is like for him living with three women. Michael is given a tour of a working warship and gets advice on keeping his temper.

23:18 – 25:25

We are given an overview of the progress Michael has made.
