CURRICULUM
PROGRAMME AIMS
- To promote understanding of what it is to be a gay teenager in today's world
- To raise awareness of the effects of homophobic bullying on young people
- To highlight the importance of respect for self, others and difference
- To look at the rise of gay culture in some aspects of today's media
- To demonstrate the role that schools and policy makers have in supporting young gay people.
CURRICULUM RELEVANCE
This programme supports a range of personal and social-learning activities across the 14-19 age range. As well as linking with cross-curricular themes such as ethos, equality and inclusion, it is of particular relevance to the following subject areas:

- Having a sense of identity and presenting confidently in a range of situations
- Challenging prejudice, bullying and discrimination assertively, and taking the initiative in giving and receiving support
- Working co-operatively with a range of people, showing goodwill to others, and using strategies to resolve disagreement peacefully.
