In this first episode we meet Jessie Platt, who is nearly seven and the main character of the series. Jessie's family moves to a new area, and her mother is expecting a baby.

Jessie has to adjust to her new surroundings and make new friends, with Ryan (6), Ben (7), Simone (8) and Alex (9). Throughout the programme, Jessie experiences a range of situations and emotions; being upset and grumpy about moving; feeling shy about making friends; being apprehensive about the new baby; feeling guilty after breaking a box of china and being unfairly blamed for breaking a toy.

Say What You Think

During the programme Jessie goes into the removal van, sees her toy dog and, reaching up to get it, causes a box to crash to the floor with the terrible sound of breaking china. She stares at the box for a while unsure what to do.
