Clipbank includes a number of English lesson plans and a wide variety of clips that engage pupils in topics and skills relevant to English teaching. Clips exemplify the author's craft and its impact, in persuasive speeches, informative documentaries and emotive news reports. From January 2009, we will be introducing a new library of English clips.
These clips will bring the use of English language to life and give pupils an insight into the minds of authors and expose them to the analysis of English literature experts. A range of topics will be covered: poetry, including poetry from twentieth century and pre-twentieth century literary heritage, from contemporary writers, and from different cultures and traditions; drama, which will initially focus on Shakespeare; and prose, which will include aspects of English language teaching including spelling and punctuation.
