The Sword in
the Stone
by T.H White
The Wart - so called because it
rhymes with his real name, Art - is taken in by Sir Ector and his
family. Not much is expected of him, and not much is planned for
him, and he grows up in the shadow of Sir Ector's son, Kay,
learning the skills that will be useful in the medieval court. But
the arrival of a new tutor changes everything. Although he doesn't
look like much, Merlyn has the most amazing powers - and he knows
the future. Wart soon discovers that he has a very important part
to play! (9+)
